Baby Jed was Inverell’s first baby for 2010.

Weighing eight pounds and seven ounces Jed is a little brother for his very excited sister Edie, aged 20 months.

“I’m going to have my hands full and be very busy with Jed and his big sister”, Mrs Morton said.

“Edie just loved him, she wanted to touch him and hold him, it was all very exciting for her”.

After their first baby was conceived through IVF Mr and Mrs Morton considered Jed to be a miracle baby after he was conceived naturally.

Mr Morton is still coming to terms with the excitement of having a boy.

“We decided not to know whether we were having a boy or a girl”, Mrs Morton said.

“I was sure I was having a girl but we were so happy, now we have a nice balance”.

“My husband was so excited to be able to say ‘my little man’ he couldn’t believe it”, she said.

Mrs Morton was not due to give birth until January 4, when Jed arrived early on New Years Day she began thinking of all the New Years Birthday parties to come.

“I thought of the big birthdays like his 18th and 21st, I expect they will be especially big with New Year celebrations as well”, Mrs Morton said.
