INVERELL Art Gallery was a hive of activity yesterday morning as its volunteers prepared artworks for the upcoming 50th Anniversary Exhibition.
Gallery supervisor, Jo Williams, said the volunteers do a wonderful job preparing for exhibitions.
“A lot of work goes on behind the scenes,” Jo said.
“They change things over at least once a month and that usually takes a couple of days. We call them our ‘hanging committee’, which we think is a great name.
“Janet Regan is in charge of that committee and her helpers are Bev McKinney-Warne, Tracey Buxton and normally she has Cathy Plowman,” Jo said.
The size of the anniversary exhibition has stretched the volunteers usual two day set up period to between three or four days.
“It should be a great exhibition,” Jo said.
“There’ll be a huge walk down memory lane for anyone who’s been associated with the gallery over the years,” she said.
