After a harrowing ordeal that left him stranded for more than three hours and eventually winched to safety from rising floodwaters, Geoff Lockwood (pictured right) said the response from Elsmore locals and emergency services who came to his aid was outstanding.
“The whole crew, SES, VRA, Ambulance and Police they all did a fabulous job and I am very grateful towards them, I would also like to thank the locals who helped retrieve my car from the causeway on Wednesday, they were an outstanding help.”
Mr Lockwood was stranded by floodwaters after his car was hit with a flash flood as he crossed a causeway, access to him was cut for some time and locals with UHF radios were the only source of contact between Mr Lockwood and the emergency services.
