23 Sep, 2008 10:50 AM
Western Australia’s Davina Summers has won the 95km Celtic Country Classic de Femme Glenn Innes to Inverell in a bunch sprint.

Summers edged out Queenslander Kirsty Broun in a tight finish in the first ever running of the classic.

Organisers introduced the new women’s course this year with great support from the Glen Innes Council and are happy they attracted a good field of female cyclists.

Jodie Willet (The Riders Club) took the final podium spot just ahead of Leonie Burford (Illawarra) in the thirteen rider strong group that contested the finish.Kirsty Broun won the Queen of the Mountain title while 7th placegetter, Canberra’s Myfanwy Gallaway was the sprint Queen for the race.
