SINGER-Songwriter Kev Carmody compared the Myall Creek massacre of 1838 with the Global Financial Crisis at Saturday's memorial service.
In 1838, 28 Aboriginal women, children and old men were killed by station workers at Myall Creek.
Seven of them were later brought to trial and executed. It was the first time white men were charged for killing Aboriginal people.
In an emotional speech Mr Carmody praised the Federal Government for saying sorry for past injustices.
Concerning the massacre he commented that the workers who carried out the killings were acting on behalf of wealthy landholders and compared the horrific acts to the current financial crisis where he said people were paying for price for others' greed.
