TINGHA Tigers are off to Guyra this Sunday and after a hard-fought win against Inverell, the team is pretty confident of a win, and a return to the top.
“The return of Marcus Woodbury and Jade McIlwain back into the A Grade squad will lift the game,” secretary Chris Curtin said. “After the Inverell match we came out with no serious injuries and we’re looking forward to taking on the competition leaders.
“Guyra lost to Glen Innes last game played and we’re hoping to add to their losing streak by beating them this Sunday.”
Chris said the Tingha Tigers have a set of strong forwards and fast backs, which he hopes will dominate Guyra’s back line.
The team playing for the President’s Cup had a solid win last week against Inverell and will be hoping to capitalise on that this weekend.
The Tingha ladies league hasn’t been doing so well lately. The ladies haven’t recorded any wins. “But, we’re hoping for an upset,” Chris said.
