I agree wholeheartedly with Arthur Macalpine's comments about Richard Torbay joining the National Party to challenge Tony Windsor at the next federal election.
While I have voted for Richard regularly in the past and consider him to be doing a great job I have no doubt what so ever that National Party policy will take precedence over the wishes of the people of New England.
One only has to look back at how quickly Barnaby Joyce was convinced to tow the line.
It seems a shame to pit to such great achievers against each other in a contest where there can only be one winner.
Which ever way it goes the electorate will be the loser.
It is up to Richard to decide but I like Arthur Macalpine will be voting independent again next time if there is one standing.
