Tingha defeated Uralla 46–28, but it was always close encounter, because Tingha got off to a slow start and Uralla scored two tries within the first 10 minutes.
In a tight match, Uralla led for most of the game.
With about 20 minutes left on the clock, Tingha’s Guy Mepam fired and was instrumental in leading his team to victory.
He scored the two vital tries that got them back into the match.
With the scoreboard then reading 24-28 in Uralla’s favour, Tingha kicked into overdrive.
They scored several more tries, which saw Alex Walker rack up his hat-trick and the golden boot of John Krauss kicked seven goals from eight attempts.
Nick Dawson, Sam Swain, Alan Woodley and Ray Craigie also played a major role and all helped steer the Tigers to victory.
The Tigers take on Goondiwindi at Tingha in two weeks and Tingha’s James Sheather said they are looking forward to the challenge.
