Cup founder Heinrich Haussler is shepherding the players on their five-week journey, and reported that the journey has been exceptional.
“Great tour and magic outcomes,” Haussler said.
Muswellbrook goalkeeper Alex McLennan was chosen for the trip after the Mini World. Haussler said McLennan is in training with a German state club.
Toowoomba’s Joshua Fanning, who won the ‘Player of the Joeys Mini World Cup’ in the Under 15s last year has trialled with Bundesliga Club Hoffrenheim this week.
Haussler said three players have been asked to come back next year.
Haussler said being on German soil with the young Aussies at the conclusion of the World Cup seeing Germany take it home was an incredible experience.
“It has been an incredible journey people are crying and laughing and shouting it is a display of utter bliss and joy.
“I can not think of any other event may it be sport, politics or religion that could even get close to create anything like this.
“This is the power of the round ball a power that unites countries, forms ever lasting friendships and unites all races on the planet. I am so happy that the players I took onto this trip could experience this ‘Mother of all World Cups’.
“What great four weeks this has been. Wouldn’t change it for anything.”
With New Zealand, Germany and Fiji on board as international teams, Haussler said interest is growing overseas for the Inverell event.
“We have interest from a Dutch club for next year, and are very close to get the USA and Japan to participate in 2015,” Haussler said.
“All we need now that our local football clubs and federations support us by participating to assure that the local kids get to play football against great opposition from overseas and that we keep this great event and allow it to grow.”
