Mr Moulds is on the Board of Inland Tourism NSW and has been a member of the Copeton Waters State Park Trust for 25 years.
“I believe I am privileged to be part of that advisory committee, because I will have input on state parks on the western side of the range,” Mr Moulds said.
“I have a good knowledge of those, I don’t have a great deal of knowledge about the coastal ones, and I as far as I am aware I am the only northern rep-resentative on that committee.
“It will be a challenging appoint-ment, but I look forward to having some input.”
Mr Moulds said he believed he had the credentials to make a significant contribution to the organisation.
“There is tremendous tourist potential for inland waters,” he said.
“There are more and more caravans and campers getting around, and the inland sites offer a wonderful opportunity for people to get down to the basics.
“A lot of the parks have excellent facilities, with cabins there as well.”
Mr Moulds said the continued growth of the inland parks had taken place over the years through word of mouth.
“Word of mouth is not enough though, and that’s why Copeton trust over the years has put money into television advertising; and now we’re in the digital age,” Mr Moulds said.
“That is the aim of this new organisation, to be able to do more in this field for everyone associated with it.”
Mr Moulds said he believed money was about to be spent by the trust on promoting and upgrading the parks and reserves.
“That is one of the positive things that will come out of it,” he said.
