INVERELL’S town-wide sale, held on Friday and Saturday by many businesses throughout the town, has hailed as a success by the president of the Inverell Chamber of Commerce, Anthony Michael.

“I think businesses that did something different than just open their doors did pretty well from it,” Mr Michael said.
About 50 businesses partici-pated in the sale, but Mr Michael said some of those that did not had reported being busy during the two days.
“What I am hearing from most businesses is that there was a lot of people around the streets and they spent some money,” Mr Michael said.
“It’s all what we intended to bring people to town for. The response was very good.
“The clubs and pubs were very busy, especially Friday.”
The sale was well advertised with flyers dropped off in letterboxes and a TV advertising campaign by the chamber.
Mr Michael said he was too busy working to have any idea of how many people the sale might have brought into the town.
“Most businesses went well, some did three times their normal Friday trade,” he said. “It was very good.”
