“It’ll be a hard one to win, that’s for sure, but after last weekend’s win I think the boys may be up to it,” he said.
“Considering the numbers we had, the boys played really well.”
Needer said injuries had knocked the team about this year, with only five A grade players still on the field from the beginning of the season.
“We always struggle for numbers out here, we just can’t compete with the bigger towns.”
He said that after last weekend he still had hope for the future even though the Tigers have run their race this season.
“I’m sure if we could have kept the same side, we could have done a lot of damage this season, I reckon,” he said.
“I don’t know what is going to happen next season, which direction some of the teams are going to take, but we’ll be there somewhere in the mixture I’m sure.”
Needers said he would like to see Group 19 sort something out for the smaller towns.
“They haven’t got the size or the ability to compete with the bigger towns and maybe a second division competition would even it up a bit,” he said.
