Mr Ribeiro is the new NEM manager for the Inverell branch, Ms Duffy is a home lending specialist and both have children who have attended Baby Bounce.
“I think it is a real genuine purpose for NEM to be supporting such a program,” Mr Ribeiro said.
“It’s certainly something I haven’t seen from any of the towns I’ve visited before and there are some great long-term benefits for the children, and it’s a great aspect for the parents to get out and socialise as well.
“I am really looking forward to being able to sponsor this on an ongoing basis.”
Mr Ribeiro’s wife and two-year-old son attended a Baby Bounce session and he said that was how he got a good understanding of the program.
“My wife suggested I come along as well, because it is a good bonding session that has long-term benefits for literacy.”
Library manager Sonya Lange said the funding of the Baby Bounce program reflected its quality.
“It will allow us to continue to give a really great service,” Ms Lange said.
“We give a morning tea to the kids each morning, so the fund will cover that. We’re also buying some new books that the kids will be able to read during the activity.
“We’ve got some new ones here today that they’ve been really enjoying. We’re also going to buy some new toys, because the toys are always a fun part and the kids always love to play with them. So the funding allows us to brighten that part of it up and keep it really fresh.”
