Charles Boney moved up in calibre to take on a more experienced and talented opponent in Duke Dean from Armidale’s Porter Power Boxing Club.
The fight was back and forth on both fighter’s skills and a pleasure to watch from a crowd’s perspective.
Dean’s fitness and experience edged Boney out in a close bout.
Blair Blazely was up against a more experienced opponent. Blazely had a distinct height and reach advantage over his costal opponent Wade Coulston.
Blazely fought a very tactical battle trying to stay on the outside while Coulston tried to close the distance and use his heavy hands.
Blazely’s composure and natural ability started to shine through and he boxed brilliantly to score a very close victory.
SMMA will compete in Murwillumbah fight night in two week’s time and the Australian National Titles in Casino.
Inverell Boxing Quest for Champions Fight Night at Inverell on November 8, will have a card of 13 fighters to match, including multiple champions, Darren Finn and John Berger, return to the ring.
