Team Budget Forklifts (TBF) will bring a team of eight for the October 25th classic, confident in the knowledge it has the recipe for success in the 228 kilometre classic.
TBF provided last year’s winner Jack Anderson and the 2012 quinella with Peter Herzig and Michael Cupitt.
Anderson switched teams and will represent Drapac this year, while Cupitt will return for TBF hoping to go one better.
The Grafton to Inverell Classic is the final race in the National Road Series with Avanti Racing Team’s Joseph Cooper holding a 6 point lead in the individual standings over teammate Brenton Jones and TBF’s Timothy Roe.
Avanti has a commanding 71 points lead in the teams classifications.
The decision to offer a lower entry fee for those entries lodged before the September 28 has paid dividends. More than 90 cyclists from a number of states have nominated so far.
Organisers are busy putting the finishing touches to this year’s race, which involves more than 100 volunteers ensuring its smooth operation and safety for competitors.
