Even though the monsoon rains seem to be lessening in recent years, the tanks have all been refilled and the local people are able to have clean drinking water.
It is a special joy to see the school children drinking the water which those of us in developed countries just take for granted and I hope to return there at the end of the year to see all that has been accomplished since my last visit in January.
This project, called Living Water Myanmar, is now under the auspices of the Global Development Group which means all donations are tax-deductible.
My dream of having clean drinking water in one hundred villages now doesn’t seem so far-fetched.
Any donations would be gratefully received, either by logging on to the Global Development Group homepage (the Living Water project's number is J812N - very important) or by contacting me by phone 0402 531 844) Clean drinking water seems such a basic right and we can make a difference to those who still see it as a luxury.
Thanks once again to all who have donated to this cause over the last three years - you have made such a difference to the lives of so many in this impoverished part of our world.
