Local businesswoman Vicki Berger organises the annual women’s wellness day for the Inverell Breast Cancer Support Group, which has proved very popular. She felt the time was ripe for a second event to back a local charity. She chose OOR and thought a family-friendly afternoon was just the ticket.
The Burrows family of Inverell is hosting the event at their property ‘Monticello’ and there is a variety of events planned.
“Because this was for the hospital and their committee is both men and women, we wanted to make it more of a family atmosphere.”
Guest speakers are scheduled to talk about health and wellbeing. Local vocalists Ashleigh Campbell and Lily Arnold will perform for the guests.
Vicki said summer fashion and swimwear would be part of the parade, and children’s clothing from Best and Less would also be on show. The catwalk will sport Vicki’s dedicated volunteer models to show off the styles.
“All shapes, sizes and ages,” she said.
“Obviously afternoon tea, so people can enjoy the surrounds of the gardens and people can go walking through the gardens,” Vicki said.
There will be lucky door prizes and raffles and there will be a surprise announcement for visitors on the day.
The Garden Party to support OOR is at Monticello at 265 Old Bundarra Road, beginning at 1pm next Sunday.
Ticket numbers are limited, the cost is $10 and can be purchased at Millers on Byron Street. Please being a chair along for the afternoon. For more information phone Vicki on 6721 4720.
