Three people were injured when two vehicles collided on an unsealed section of the Delungra Road, five kilometres south of Graman.
Police said they yet to interview a 24-year-old Queensland woman, who was travelling north in a Commodore with her five-year-old daughter in the vehicle when the car collided with a Triton ute towing a trailer.
A 68-year-old Emmaville man was driving the ute. He was able to free himself from the vehicle and free the child from the other vehicle, however the woman was trapped in the car until freed by the Volunteer Rescue Association.
Police and ambulance also attended the scene and the woman and child were treated before being flown to Tamworth Base Hospital by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter.
The woman remains in hospital with lacerations and broken ribs, while her daughter was cleared and released.
The 68-year-old man was taken Inverell District Hospital for observation before he was cleared and released.
EARLIER
A woman was injured in a two-vehicle collision on the Delungra Road near Graman this afternoon.
The 24-year-old driver from Queensland was airlifted to Tamworth Base Hospital with serious pelvic injuries, while emergency services attended the scene.
Police to the incident around 3pm today where three others, including one young child, had sustained minor injuries.
Emergency services remained on scene as of 4.05pm this afternoon.
