This year marked the eighth expo Ms Shailer has been involved in.
Ms Shailer said while numbers were slightly down on last year, store holders and expo-goers provided a great atmosphere to keep the event alive through the weekend.
“It was great, everyone was busy,” she said
“All the stallholders were happy. The psychics were flat out.”
Ms Shailer estimated just under 400 people attended the two-day event held over Saturday, October 18 and Sunday, October 19, in search of spiritual guidance and wellbeing, as well as a good time.
“It’s usually for those people who want to come and get some guided information,” she said.
“Some people like to just come to expos to have fun, to buy crystals and just to be in that zone.”
The event also raised close to $500 in funds and gifts for the Royal Far West charity by selling raffle tickets on the day with the aid of merchandise donations from attending stall holders.
Ms Shailer said sellers and attendees were happy to offer a helping hand.
“We made a cash donation to Royal Far West and the stall holders gave them lots of different things to raffle off to raise money, even to the point where they had so much stuff given that they are sending some down to Sydney to be raffled off as well,” she said.
Currently, a majority of vendors attend the expo from across the state.
Ms Shailer said in coming years, the expo is keen to expand to include more store holders from varying alternative practices to offer a more comprehensive spiritual experience.
“We had people from Mullumbimby and Toowoomba (among others). A lot of people travelled a long way,” she said.
“Most of the stall holders come from out of town.”
“We’re always looking for new stall holders.”
The Mind Body and Soul Expo was a precursor to the continuing Sapphire City Festival with numerous community events running until November 8 and 9.
