Blustery conditions brought down a significantly bored willow tree on O’Connor Street, but SES deputy unit commander Joerg Gruenfeld said there were no injuries as a result.
The tree reportedly blocked access to a drive way and footpath and caused some minor damage to a motor vehicle.
Crews were also called to a clean-up operation at Gum Flat yesterday, after a number of fallen trees damaged fences near Copeton Dam.
Deputy commander Gruenfeld said crews were repairing fences yesterday and said no stock was lost as a result of rough weather.
SES crews also responded to a downed tree in the Ashford local area yesterday and were assisting Rural Fire Service (RFS) crews to contain a fire in Yetman.
RFS Superintendant Chris Wallbridge said around 15 RFS crewmen were on hand yesterday bringing the fire under control.
He said crews closed the Bruxner Highway intermittently on Sunday evening and anticipated the road may be closed again as crews extinguish the fire.
Superintendant Wallbridge urged motorists and Yetman residents to exercise extreme caution.
RFS crews are also responding to a number of lightening strikes around the Northern Tablelands as a result of this week’s storm activity.
Approximately 7mm of rain fell on the local area on Sunday evening with gusts measuring more than 60km/hour.
Predictions of possible showers continue thought the week with moderate easterly winds of up to 22km/hr are anticipated for Friday. Temperatures are expected to drop by up to three degrees on Thursday, before rising slightly towards the end of the week.
