SANTA Claus visited Inverell Shire Library on Wednesday afternoon, and with his arrival came many reports from the children (and adults) about their nice conduct throughout the year.

Of course, everyone was on their best behaviour.
Library children’s services officer, Leanne Schuhmacher said she had been good this week and hopefully that was what would count enough to get her across the line.
“I’m hoping that the Wish Star the children made for him today will be enough for him to give me my present,” Leanne said. “But he said that he has enjoyed coming in.
“We all sang a song and the children were able to conjure Santa up. We were singing ‘Where is Santa? Where is Santa?’ and we got louder and louder and finally he came!”
It was the fourth time Santa had appeared at the Inverell library.
“Obviously the children of Inverell are very good and he makes a special appearance here,” Leanne said.
Library manager Sonya Lange said the kids loved Santa; and quickly added that she had been above the top of the ‘nice scale’ all year.
“It’s really important to get Santa here each year. It’s good for the community and good for Santa too, because when he’s finished here we just feed him a couple of chocolates and send him on his way.”
Leanne’s hoping for a holiday for Christmas, and Sonya would like a few wet days so that she can stay at home and read a couple of books. Hopefully they will both receive their Christmas wish.
