In fact I am that representative. Actually applied in writing to the council for the position and was appointed.
Like Caroline, l have been a long time resident of lnverell; 50 years to be exact.
Having been an active member of many community organisations over that time and being a former shire councillor for more than two terms, including Deputy Mayor for most of that tenure, l thought l would be a reasonable candidate for a position on the TCRP.
Over many years, there have quite a few contentious issues put to council for consideration, ie: the construction of the council chambers, our Copeton water supply, the works depot and more recently the Varley Oval upgrade, and l am convinced that council’s decisions regarding those projects have been vindicated.
The TCRP is a short-to-long term plan to ensure our major asset is kept up to scratch, and remains the best shopping centre around.
It must be remembered that the major components of the plan are to be carried out over the medium to longer term.
