“We sold 400 dozen lamingtons last year, and we’re hoping to exceed that this year,” Kevin said.
“That’s a lot of coconut and a lot of chocolate. By the way, would you like half a dozen?” he asked with a laugh.
Kevin thought the museum had settled into its new premises well, and said that was one reason why this year’s fundraiser was so important.
“The new museum has incurred quite a number of costs, with the shift etcetera,” he said.
“Initially it was like starting a new business, because we had shifted quite a distance from the old museum. But we’re now getting the busloads, quite a few group bookings.
It will be the first Museum Motor Show in their new premises on Rifle Range Road and Kevin is quite excited about it.
“There will be the opportunity to put more exhibits in this year and we’ve got all the interested clubs, car clubs and motorcycle clubs attending, as well as visitors from the other regional areas are interested,” Kevin said.
“We’re also negotiating with the defence forces to get a Bushmaster up, and also the Military Vehicles Collectors have shown interest in turning up as well, but I must say both are still in the negotiation stage.”
