Black Star opened a six-month pop-up at the Powerhouse before Christmas, but is now looking to extend that.
"We're not sure about the long-term Parramatta [move] but we like it here and will probably tender for the space when it come up," owner Christopher Thé says.
The cafe, which can be accessed without admission to the museum, has favourites from the Newtown and Rosebery stores, including the strawberry watermelon cake and lamb shank pie. It also has breakfast and lunch menus.
"Downstairs the kids playground cafeteria has been turned into a beach-themed dining area with barbecue seafood and meat grill, deck chairs and kids entertainment," Thé says.
