Why, after all this time of community concern, should such a promise materialise?
At the same time I note the politician's proviso that this is contingent on his political party being returned to government.
In my view this smacks of blatant vote buying using taxpayers money, a practice which is all too common with the major political parties.
Voters should be very wary of such promises, particularly when there is no definite time frame and we all know how politician’s promises can evaporate once they return to office.
