Make a friend, get some exercise and enjoy the countryside in the Wallangra Walkathon on Thursday, April 16, with all proceeds to be donated to the Australian Rotary Health Research Fund for Rural Mental Health.
The event coincides with a bike ride for the charity from Glen Innes to Goondiwindi.
The cyclists will stop at the Wallangra Hall for morning tea.
There is a 5km walk leaving at 8am from Sandy Creek on Wallangra Road and a 2km walk departing at 8.30am from Widgee on Wallangra Road. Both walks end at the Wallangra Hall where refreshments are available. Drivers can drop their cars at the hall, and get a lift to either start points.
There is also a free bus to Wallangra from Ashford, provided by the Ashford Local Aboriginal Land Council. The walk is free, but a sponsorship sheet for funding can be found on wallangransw.com/wallangra-festival/wallangra-walkathon.

Local boys and favourites Brother Fox are proud to announce today’s release of Feeler, their first single since their 2013 EP. The song, with lyrics written by Jon Orchard, tells the story of a relationship between partners, siblings, colleagues or friends that drifts apart, but comes full circle. His brother Tim Orchard said this release is the first in a string of new songs they will feed out the public over the course of the next months. Feeler can be accessed on Soundcloud for streaming through www.brotherfox.com and will shortly be out on iTunes. Tim said to get an early head’s up about coming releases and a special pre-release of each song, you can subscribe to their newsletter though their web site or their Facebook page: Brother Fox Musician/Band.
