Police patrolling the Inverell CBD at 11.40pm on Thursday, April 16 noticed a smashed shop window in Byron Street. Officers contacted the shop owner who attended the scene and described the stolen property.

Using the CCTV cameras installed in the CBD, police were then able to identify the 25-year-old Muswellbrook male, and the direction he left with the stolen item. At 12.15am the following day the man was located by police at a premise in Clive Street where they also found the stolen property.
The man was arrested and charged with break and enter and was refused bail to appear in the Inverell Local Court at a later date.
