Joeys captain/coach Jackson Haussler and Corey Rynne were two who manned the hotplate, and Haussler spoke about this weekend’s game against the Demon Knights, between throwing a few sausages and a bit of bacon on the barbie.
“We’ll be playing at the Inverell Sporting Complex at 3pm and the Second grade kick off at 1pm,” Haussler said.
“We’ve had two wins from two, so I think we’re the favourites for the match, but I think it will be a hard match, although I don’t think they’ll be quite as strong a East Armidale.”
Haussler said the First grade side would also have to contend with a bit of a positional shakeup for this round’s match.
“It’s going to be a bit of a different team on the weekend, we’ve got some players coming in and some that are unavailable, so we will just see how it goes,” he said.
‘We’ll have Adrian Gersbach back on the weekend, he’ll be slipping into the right-back position, and then we have Jeff Miller from Glen Innes who’ll be coming into the mid-field.”
Haussler said training sessions were a bit too low on numbers at the moment. He said about 16 players were turning up and ideally he would like to see double that number. He said the Joeys were being well supported by Glen Innes players.
Joeys president Heinrich Haussler said hopefully they would come away with the three points on Saturday.
“It would be really nice to see a lot of people come over to support us. We had a very good crowd two weeks ago against Easts, and that helped. I think the boys need that too.
“It really does lift a side when it has a lot of supporters at the game, so everyone come along and support us and watch some really good football.”
