Mr Jordan caught up with the Times last week to chat about his proposed cinematic undertaking to apply an exciting science fiction twist ancient myths gleaned from Plato’s dialogues and the Dead Sea Scrolls.
The burgeoning film creator said he was fascinated with the epic tales of pre-history myths and their recurrences across cultural bounds, but was taken particularly with an apocalypse myth detailed in the Dead Sea Scrolls of an epic clash between seemingly supernatural forces.
“In there they talk about the Sons of Light versus the Sons of Belial, which is a prehistory. It is before the time of the bible,” Mr Jordan said.
The film is still on the drawing board as Mr Jordan continues to source crew and potential actors, but he said he is keen to keep the production in the local area.
He said he envisioned a number of similarities in the New England and North West Slopes and Plains areas to the traditional Anatolia setting for these epic myths.
“We are planning to make it in Inverell, Warialda, out towards Collarenebri, because this is an area that is almost identical to the Anatolia in its structure,” he said.
Mr Jordan said he has applied to Screen Australia for funding and is currently searching particularly for a musically experienced creator who could write original score for the film.
