THERE was colour, and there was movement. From sassy jazz choreography, to fairy tales come alive, the breathtaking grace of classical ballet to interpretive creativity, the 67th Inverell Dance Eisteddfod entertained.

The 2015 dance convener Carol Harmer said the talent on the Inverell Town Hall stage was better than ever.
“We have amazing talent in this town. The standard this year was leaps and bounds above last year,” she said.
“Because I know so many of the kids, as well. I’ve seen them come through. It’s just amazing.”
Kaitlin Bell, director of the Bayside Dance Studio in Brisbane was the event adjudicator. She was busy from Wednesday evening through late Saturday night when the championships concluded.
Winners in the junior section were Lily Arnold of Inverell for the Song and Dance and Classical sections and Mackenzie Ramage of Guyra in the Jazz section.
In the intermediate age category, Mary-Grace Dobel of Inverell won the championship for Jazz with Inverell’s Jade Hills as runner-up.
Mary-Grace took home the top prize in intermediate Classical with Savannah Roberts of Guyra in second place.
Olivia Fowke of Inverell won the senior Classical championship with Olivia Sharwood of Inverell as runner-up.
Olivia Fowke won the senior Jazz section with dancer Georgia Rodgers from Inverell as runner-up.
The Inverell Town Hall will light up one last time tonight for the dancers. The Dance Eisteddfod Concert begins at 7pm to showcase the top performances from the championships
Adjudicator Kaitlin Bell chose additional pieces to include in the program. They are young dancers who shone in their sections, selected for their quality and entertainment value.
Three dance scholarships will also be announced on the night.
Tickets are $10 and available at the door.
