The school is very strong in touch football, sports organiser Denise Bryant said.
“Every year we’ve had two or three, if not more, players chosen over the years. Both boys and girls,” she said.
“This year is a reflection of that success.”
Billy Stewart, Jack Jeffery, Mitch Lennon, Corey Alexander, Matthew Milson and Joel Humphries are the players off to play for North West in Coffs Harbour.
Lennon said he thought the North West touch side was a good one.
“It is fairly good actually,” Lennon said.
“We’ve got six players from here, one from Macintyre (High School) and two from Bundarra as well, so it’s a good local side.
“We know most of them. We shouldn’t go too bad. Get a few training runs under our belt we should give a few of them a run for their money, anyway.”
He said the team would train on Sunday.
“We’ve got a pretty good bunch. Everyone’s getting along well, which is good,” Lennon said.
When asked what the team’s strength was, Lennon said it was Milson, and the others all laughed in agreement with typical bush humour. Of course, Lennon knew the team held more than one really good player.
“Nah, fairly well everyone over all. Everyone just does their job and they all work hard,” he said.
