The Inverell district is pulling out the stops for the week.
Local towns are hosting community marches, meals, cultural activities, and recognition of the contributions of Aboriginal residents in the area.
Events are planned for Tingha, Ashford, the Danthonia community and Inverell.
Inverell NAIDOC Week committee chairman Harry White said this year’s theme echoes the intent of local celebrations.
“It’s to showcase Aboriginal culture to the Inverell, Tingha and Ashford communities,” he said.

“We’re a culture that likes to share, but we’re a culture that also likes to learn.
“We’ve got so much to offer, but we acknowledge we have so much to learn as well.”
Harry warmly welcomed both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people, families and children to attend any of the events within their area.
Everyone is invited to march and participate.
“Absolutely. We like love to see as many people who can make it down to any of the events that have been listed on the calendar, right throughout the Inverell, Tingha and Ashford region,” Harry said.
“Come along and share with us, and help us celebrate the NAIDOC Week celebrations in those respective towns.
“It’s open for everybody, we want everybody to be there. It’s all part of the reconciliation process.”
