Inverell Joeys dropped another game on the weekend when they lost 4-1 to Norths. The loss sees their lead on the ladder gone and sees their premiership hopes slip just a little further away.

Captain/coach Jackson Haussler has just returned from Germany and said he was not worried by the losses, but said the Joeys had to turn the situation around.
“We’ve got a really hard game this Saturday, probably an even harder game than we had against Norths, when we play Tamworth FC,” Haussler said.
“They’ve got two or three players that have come over from England and are working in the area in Tamworth. They’ve got a goal scorer there that’s on 13 goals already from the six or seven games he’s played”.
Haussler said the Joeys also had to play a catch-up game against Moree on Sunday, and needed the six points from both matches to put them back in the lead.
“If we get those points it doesn’t matter about the losses we’ve had because we’ll be minor premiers for sure,” he said.
Haussler said he thought the Joeys may not have been training well.
“I think we have a bit of a lack of fitness and a bit of a lack of motivation because we had a really good start to the season,” Haussler said.
“I think the boys thought we were just going to roll all the teams over.
“I think it’s good that we’ve lost a few games now, because everyone has to step up and everyone has to give 100 per cent.”
Haussler said the team was carrying no injuries, but was not playing a settled game.
