HIGHLANDERS reserve grade coach Nigel Henley thinks the strength of his team comes from the mixture of older heads, youth and old mates playing together, and is confident the side can defeat Moree when the two sides clash at Moree this weekend in the second grade grand final.

“The structure of our attack has been a real winner for us, and we’ve had comments from other teams how well that works,” Henley said.
“We’ve beaten Moree in the major semi-final, but I think we’re going into this match as the underdogs. The team is fit. They’re training three times a week plus a game.”
Henley said a few times in the past the side had had a little trouble with numbers on away games, but said he did not expect that to be an issue in the grand final.
“The boys are pretty committed now, have been for the last few weeks,” he said.
“As far as travelling, we’ve always had four or five blokes on the bench, but you always want more.”
Henley said he had been spoilt for reserve grade players this season when compared to previous years.
“This year we’ve got some really good players coming off the bench, which is really exciting. Players like Tala Vea, Trent Hoscher and Tim Hayes. We’ve got a bit of spark on the bench, that’s for sure.”
