Categories for all our eating habits
On the Pulse was left wide eyed and open mouthed at the latest figures by Roy Morgan Research about Australians eating trends. Seems we’re broken up into seven categories, the largest of which (23 per cent) is the ‘Just Feed Me’ category, 60 per cent of which are men.

The just feed me category are not interested in eating out, cooking or grocery shopping (sounding familiar?), but on the up side, they just eat what they’re given. The ‘Zappit’ category (17 per cent) are similar, but have no desire to slave over a hot stove. The ‘Take It Away’ category takes up only 9 per cent of the population and just does not understand why anyone would cook at all.
For the remaining 51 per cent of people food remains high on the agenda.
It is made up of the ‘House Proud’ (22 per cent), ‘Trendsetters’ (9 per cent), ‘Entertainers’ (8per cent) and then comes the good ‘Old fashioned cook at only 12 per cent.
On the Pulse had a lot of trouble getting its head around all that and was left slightly dazed by it all, until it figured out the problem. There was no ‘Just leave me alone and let me pour the milk on my cereal’ category.
Local numbers on Ash Mad website
This week’s revelations about the Ashley Madison website took On the Pulse by surprise. Seriously, they did. While it was revealed on Ash Mad that there were 302 accounts in our neck of the woods, other communities made for very interesting reading. According to the data, inner Sydney, including Haymarket and Dawes Point, is the most adulterous postcode; the least adulterous postcode area is Ashby in the Maclean, ranked at 478 in NSW.
Attunga locals get the top sleaze slot for the New England electorate with 400 accounts registered to the small farming community north of Tamworth. At the 2006 census, Attunga only had 633 residents.
Almost 10 per cent of Werris Creek’s population have accounts with Ashley Madison, while six per cent of Moree’s population signed up using the town’s postcode.
Armidale, the wider Liverpool Plains area and Gunnedah all had more than 4 per cent of the population signed up with an Ashley Madison account, while Narrabri and Walcha had just over 3 per cent of the town’s using the cheating website.
