The four musicians were engaged by the Inverell Music Appreciation Group and will perform works by composers including Brahms, Mozart and Elgar.
Pianist Mitchell Leigh is a graduate of both the Queensland Conservatorium of Music and the University of British Columbia, Canada and has established a national reputation as a performer.
Claire de Lune, the famous piano solo by Debussy will be a highlight of the programme.
Graham Evans studied clarinet at the Royal College of Music, London and came to Australia in 1984.
Upon arrival, he took up a post at Adelaide and later Tamworth. Graham lives in Brisbane and has given several concerts in Inverell.
Anna Jack plays the viola and was a member of the Queensland Symphony Orchestra for many years.
Anna is working as a freelance musician in her ‘retirement’.
Contralto Dorothy Williams studied with Lauris Elms in Sydney and Joseph Ward in Brisbane.
Dorothy has lived and worked as a singer in Europe, and on returning to Australia, she worked as a soloist with the Queensland Orchestra, Opera Queensland and Operatif.
This accomplished singer will perform Elgar’s great Sea Pictures, with accompaniment arranged by Mitchell Leigh for piano, clarinet and viola.
The concert at the Salvation Army Citadel, 35 Vivian Street, Inverell begins at 2pm and entry at the door (from 1.30 pm) is $25 for adults and $5 for children.
