A 61-year-old man was charged with drink-driving following a car accident on Monday afternoon.

When police arrived at the accident site on Thunderbolt’s way, about four kilometres south of Gilgai, the vehicle was overturned. The accident happened shortly before 2pm.
The Ashford man was not seriously injured and blew a positive on a roadside breath test. He was arrested and taken to Inverell Police Station.
His breath analysis showed a low-range blood-alcohol reading.
He received a future Court Attendance Notice for driving with the low-range prescribed concentration of alcohol.
The man is due to attend Inverell Court at a later date.
