Obviously everyone is aware of the destructive nature of this particular drug (ice), so anything we can do to prevent it being on the streets, we will.

A 32-year-old Inverell man has been released on conditional bail, charged over the illegal haul, which police seized from a Rivers St home late last week.
As part of an ongoing investigation, Inverell police executed a search warrant on the home about noon and found the items there.
“A quantity of ammunition, prescribed restricted substances, cash, explosives, and prohibited drugs – including what is suspected to be ice – was located,” Inverell Inspector Rowan O’Brien told The Leader.
The 32-year-old was arrested and, following questioning by investigators, was charged with a raft of offences, including supplying a prohibited drug, two counts of possessing an illegal drug, possessing ammunition without a licence, handling an explosive without an authorising licence, negligently handling an explosive to endanger persons, possessing drug paraphernalia and dealing in the suspected proceeds of crime.
“We will be alleging in court there were illegal activities involved, including the supply of prohibited drugs within the township of Inverell,” Inspector O’Brien said.
“The fact that we were able to successfully intervene in regards to what we believe was suspicious activity is always a positive outcome.”
The man was granted conditional bail to answer the 10 offences at court in mid-December.
Inspector O’Brien said investigations were continuing and extra offences could be triggered.
“A number of the items seized will undergo forensic examination and further charges could be laid,” he said.
Inspector O’Brien said the seizure of explosives, as well as ice and ammunition, was worrying.
“Obviously everyone is aware of the destructive nature of this particular drug, so anything we can do to prevent it being on the streets, we will,” he said.
“And we would encourage any member of the community to report suspicious drug activity to police and we will act.”
