Manager Library Services Sonya Lange said the expanded collection features a mixture of contemporary and classic titles for all ages.
“The collection will continue to expand as each library service purchases new titles each month,” she said.
“The e-books are free to borrow from the Wheelers e-platform, and patrons simply login with their library card details.”
Inverell Library has joined forces with some of its western neighbours to expand the range of e-books available to library members.
Big Sky Libraries (Brewarrina, Lightning Ridge, Moree, Mungin-di, Walgett), Cobar Library and the Inverell Library have been individually providing their patrons with access to the Wheelers e-Platform offering access to a broad range of e-book titles.
Combining the collections provides the patrons of all three library services with access to a much larger range of titles, within a seamless, simple to use mobile app.
Inverell Shire Council mayor Paul Harmon believed the e-Platform offered an attractive and readily accessible service, particularly for residents who are geographically isolated.
“Council is delighted to be part of an innovative approach which increases the quantity of titles available.
“The partnership also maximises the value received from Council’s investment in new technologies”.
Patrons wishing to explore the expanded service can do so by visiting the ‘Digital Library’ page at www.inverell.nsw.gov.au, or visiting the library.
