The day will offer browsers a wealth of home-grown chemical free produce, meats, food, hobby farm animals, a tasty cuppa and the third in a series on developing a garden.
“This market coming up, it’s also the time, where there’s going to be the most excess produce around, because the summer garden is in full-swing and harvest is happening,” garden member Jane O’Brien said.
For the past four months, the garden has run workshops involving a demonstration plot within the garden, from soil preparation to planning and planting
“And now in February, we’re looking at irrigation,” Jane said.
She said the garden has developed into a place where people share experience and knowledge to learn and support.
A gold coin donation is appreciated to allow the gardens to cover their lease, water and ongoing projects to the public.
Jane said the project, launched in 2012 with just one leased plot has grown to 13 allotments and a scant number of spaces left.
The project engages many local groups in town who have helped the project grow.

The Inverell Men’s Shed, Macintyre High School students, the TAFE Indigenous land management group and market garden volunteers have contributes and more volunteers are always welcome.
Jane said a NSW early childhood inclusion grant will allow the garden to construct a playground for young ones, including members of the Inverell autism support group who regularly meet and work at the garden.
