The free art and craft day was a joint effort for Youth Week between the centre and Pathfinders services Inverell Family Youth Support Service and Family Referral Service. Children made badges, decorated cupcakes, and painted Aboriginal art, with the help of Tingha artist Alex Munro. Linking Together Centre community officer Kerrie Dettman said Alex was “unreal”.
“The kids listen to him, he’s just got that calm, mellow demeanour. And very, very clever at what he does.”
She said many local services were “time poor”, and working together eased the burden.
