Dogs are talking
Interesting to see Johnny Depp still obsessed with Australia’s quarantine laws. BJ copped a spray from him on Jimmy Kimmel’s late night talk show.

Depp’s description of BJ as an inbred tomato, and calling him “Barnaby Jones” hit a new depth of childish, playground behaviour that can’t be doing his fan base here any favours. His description of Pistol and Boo as miniscule, tiny teacup things demonstrated that Johnny has not taken the incident with his two little boot-rooters on the chin, and moved on.
But his comment about BJ wasn’t what really raised the On the Pulse hackles. BJ can look after himself. He’s friends with Wacka Williams so he must be able to.
No, what really got up the On the Pulse nostril was Jimmy Kimmel’s obviously ill informed conclusion that Australian quarantine laws were dumb.
He said it was good to see America was not the only dumb country, and it was not just the US doing stupid stuff. He thought it was just one person making a ‘big deal’ out of it all.
Making a ‘big deal’ out of quarantine laws that protect a multi-billion dollar agricultural industry is stupid? It left on the Pulse wondering how dumb the commentator who thinks that is?
As for Johnny, well, one woman on Facebook got a few likes for her comment that she now feels ashamed she had ever had Johnny’s poster on her wall when she was younger. Like everyone, particularly in rural Australia, she gets it; he still doesn’t.
It crossed On the Pulse’s mind her comment might be a ‘big deal’ for Johnny, then again, maybe not. But in any case, perhaps he should remember that every dog has its day.
Cattle and origin
OTP received the following suggestion from one of our avid readers, Tony Sonter.
"Drawing a line through BJ’s argument regarding refugee boat people being sent from Indonesia in retaliation for cancelling the live cattle trade - If Queensland were to beat NSW in next week’s State of Origin, could we send Barnaby back to them as retaliatory action? Almost enough for a NSW supporter to switch allegiance!"
