“I want to know how do we get help,” the woman asked.

“My question is what happens when someone walks into our hospital and says I need help and the hospital says we can’t help you.”

That was the question that capped off the night at Inverell’s ice forum last week.

The answers were slow in coming.

While the ice forum heard from experts from out of town, the local perspective was missing with police dropping out at the last minute.

About 80 people turned up and heard some great information (see story this page).

But the forum promised to give advice on where to seek help locally.

What they heard in answer to the above question was that help was available but you had to know where to find it.Drug services don’t work after hours or weekends.

“What’s my best action to support them,” asked the original questioner. A definitive answer is still to come.
