The current Brisbane Spartan guard has been working with young players across northern NSW for a couple of years. He will be hosted by the Inverell Basketball Association for two camps for juniors with Jonny on Tuesday, October 4 and Wednesday, October 5.
This camp is open to students of all abilities. The camp cost is $40 for one day and $50 for two. There are two-hour sessions for U10s 9-11am, U12-14s noon-2pm and U16s-18 3-5pm at the Inverell Basketball Stadium.
Applications forms and information can be found on Facebook (Inverell Basketball Association).
Jonny played basketball for Eastern Illinois University and then the Dominican Republic before heading to Australia where he played in NSW before heading to Brisbane.
Inverell Basketball Association president Tane Richards is hoping for a mini rush of interest to ensure they can get the numbers needed to host the player in Inverell.
Tane said learning from the television or a video game is no comparison to real court time. “It’s a chance to learn the game properly and learn some real basketball skills,” he said.
Bookings are essential. For more information, phone Tane on 0438 522 753.
