The cash will travel two-fold as it is put straight back into the community, President of the Warialda Lions Club Kingsley Grills said.
“The donation means we can fund projects that wouldn’t get funding,” he said.
A little bit of honey goes a long way towards various community charities in the district.
“Last year we paid for four students to help them go overseas to play sports and participate in musical festivals.
“All the money we raise goes back into the community.”

Best Nursery worker Julie McRae said they were grateful to get the opportunity to support the festival and this was a way of saying “thanks”.
“Kingsley asked us if we would take part in the Honey Festival and partner with Warialda Lions Club,” she said.
“We took plants down there and we agreed to share the profits with them.
“So today we are presenting with them with a cheque for the profits of the day.
“We’re a local business helping a local club,” she said.
