Inverell-based Jin Ryu Kan Martial Arts Organisation has won the right to host the 2016 NSW Koshiki Contact Karate Country Championships.

“We already have martial artists from Brisbane to Sydney who have indicated their support. We also have a huge local contingent,” chief instructor and former world champion Nick King said.
The tournament will be held at Holy Trinity School Inverell on Sunday, October 16 from 10am. The world governing body, World Koshiki Contact Karate Federation from Tokyo Japan has officially sanctioned the event.
This is the 13th tournament the club has hosted in the past 21 years, and up to 300 people are expected to visit Inverell over the weekend. It is sure to be a competitive event, with many regional, state, national and international champions in Jin Ryu Kan.
Koshiki Karate is presently lobbying for selected as an Olympic sport.
