Covered in colourful knitted and crocheted flowers, spirals and pom poms, the enigmatic creation caught the eyes of passersby Margaret Pryor and Lyn Evans on Tuesday morning. The pair were fascinated by the tree, but said they had no idea who was responsible.
Tourism Inverell staff Peter Caddey, Ann Clydsdale and Anka McMahon remained tight-lipped about the situation, which they claimed had mysteriously cropped up overnight.
However it is possible the trio know more than they’re letting on, as the centre is currently hosting a ‘50 years of flower power’ textile art installation and preparing for a knitting and crocheting workshop next Tuesday, October 25.
Coincidence? You decide.
