Sharleigh Kingi-Phillips, Clare Wilkins, Sophie and Jessica Kastelein travelled to Gunnedah with all the girls bringing home medals.
Sharleigh put in some good routines to win a silver medal and Clare, Sophie and Jessica coming away with bronze medals.
A very large contingent of 10 girls and two boys travelled to Armidale two weeks later, and came home with a treasure trove of medals of all colours after some outstanding routines.
Most of the girls and boys earned some personal best scores on some apparatus, and to proved that their hard work put in at training pays off.
Level three gymnasts Sharleigh Kingi-Phillips, Whitney Melvin-Smith and Sophie Kastelein earned themselves gold medals.
They were able to notch up some very high and consistent scores throughout the competition.
During the school holidays, Sophie Kastelein and Elizabeth King travelled to Newcastle, where the pair competed in the country championships for acro gymnastics.
They reaped the rewards of the extra training with the girls finishing first in the balance routine and equal first in the dynamic routine.
This was a first time for both girls and they reaped the rewards of the extra training with the girls finishing first in the balance routine and equal first in the dynamic routine.
With these high scores Sophie and Elizabeth were awarded first place overall which is an outstanding result as both girls haven’t been doing the acro gymnastics for long.
With one competition left for the year at Tamworth this weekend, the Boys Club gymnasts are not only working hard at training for this competition but are also preparing for their end of year display.
This event is always a terrific spectacle, as the gymnasts show off all the skills that they have learnt throughout the year.
