A total of 10 community groups have secured a piece of the $15,000 Village Grants program, which will ignite new projects in all corners of the shire, including Ashford, Gilgai, Gum Flat, Yetman and Delungra.
Inverell mayor Paul Harmon indicated this year’s program fielded an unprecedented number of applications. Recipients were:
- Inverell Theatre Company (Beaulieu Hall): $2000;
- Ashford Golf Club: $1829
- Delungra Memorial Bowling Club: $1000
- Gwydir Group of CWA (Delungra): $1000
- Gilgai Public Hall and Recreation Reserve Trust: $816
- Yetman Hall and Progress Association: $2000
- Mount Russell Community Hall: $1500
- Ashford Pony Club: $1599
- Graman Memorial Hall: $1000
- Gum Flat Hall: $2000.
