This year instead of celebrating the Chinese New Year, TCAI have opted to celebrate at the end of the Chinese lunar month by having a Chinese Lantern Festival.
2017 is the Chinese Year of the Rooster.
This exciting event will be held on Saturday, February, 11 at the Tingha Sport & Rec Club, New Valley Road, Tingha. The TCAI have been very fortunate in once again obtaining a Chinese chef, John, from the Mun Hing Chinese restaurant at Armidale.
2017 is the Chinese Year of the Rooster. Spokesperson for TCAI, Colleen Graham, said that SBS, TV, Sydney are showing a keen interest to come and film the occasion and incorporate the Tingha Chinese history.
The 2017 Tingha Chinese Lantern Festival at the Tingha Sport & Rec Club on Saturday 11th February, 2017 5pm for a 5.30pm start.
A Chinese smorgasbord will be served from 5.30pm till 8pm. The ticket cost $25 per person (15yrs and over.) Ticket cost for children aged up to to 15 years is the Their age plus $2.00 (eg 3yrs + $2 = $5).
